Some relatively new works. I’ve decided to work more in the city and to concentrate more on architectural forms for the time being. It allows me to explore new ways of putting together a picture as well as thinking about color. These paintings were all done in the North Park area of San Diego. I’m excited about finding some new subjects and I think I’m starting to be a little more daring about where to set up my easel. I also just started a new large painting (36″ x 48″) on a busy street corner in Hillcrest of the 24 hour Fitness and Hillcrest Theater Mall complex that just knocks me out the way the early morning light hits their intensely multi-colored walls and funky-abstract shaped California-style mall architecture.

I love all these new paintings! your work seems to have changed a bit with the new subject matter – possibly a bit more abstract, in a good way! thanks for sharing. I need to get to work…

    Thanks Jade!
I bet you must be getting excited about your upcoming trip to Italy – like I am! Hopefully, I’ll be able to hear about your venture there and to see what you’ve been working on.

I do want to push the abstract side of things more but at the same time push my drawing to better translate what I’m looking at.
