This is one confused painting, started out being a sunny afternoon and then it turned completely cloudy. I didn’t want to stop so I changed everything and made quite the mess. However, I find it still has it interest.
I hope to get back and do another painting of it that will give it more justice.

Cabrillo Bridge Balboa Park 30″ x 40″ Oil on Canvas 8/2008

This painting, of an off ramp from Rt. 163 as it snakes its way through Balboa Park was done from life on site in the late morning light. The tower in the distance is the Musuem of Man. One of my favorite San Diego paintings thus far.

Before I moved to San Diego last year I was in the middle or almost finished several paintings I was working from life near where I lived in Jamaica Plain. I recently returned to these painting finishing them from photos and memory.
