I moved to San Diego from Boston back in August of this year. My wife and I moved here to help take care of Father who has some serious heart problems. My brother, Harry had been helping him out but he was deployed to Afghanistan for a year, he is an Infectious Disease MD for the Navy. Anyway, this painting is one of the first paintings I did once I got settled enough to start painting again. Not the greatest photo but the scene shows some possibilities for returning sometime. Not one of my favorites, I gotta admit.

Mission Trails again
Mission Trails is only about 5 minutes away from our new home. I often go there to paint these one sitting small, generally 8 x 10″ oil paintings on panel. This photo and the previous shows the color totally out of whack and is blurred to boot. I plan to retake photos of several of these little paintings I did when we first moved here. I am posting them now largely due to my impatience to finally get this blog thing going again and put up this work – eventually I will come to my senses and edit out the dogs and bad photos…

Mission Trails Palm
If I were a real Californian I would tell you what type of palm this is. I should know by now but sorry to say that isn’t the case. Palms trees are still a thrill, hope to paint paint much better ones as I get my palm chops up to speed.
